In 1985 Eric Bussico, the Director of American Airlines, hosted a musical composition contest in Haiti. The winner would receive a trip to the United States There were over 2000 people who entered compositions to the contest, including renown Haitian jazz musician, Reginald Policard. Sidon walked away the winner and began his journey to the United States.
Since then, Sidon has been on a musical adventure discovering and exploring his many talents. At the same time, struggling to gain citizenship, as well as, a place to live, music seemed to be the avenue that continued to push him through the hard times. Sidon refers to these times as his “growing pains”, without these struggles, “Rain of Love: River of Tears” could not have been musically born. This was the outlet for him to share his story with the world. Each character in the story is based on an individual who truly impacted his life. Currently, he lives by the motto, “Don’t say who you are, show who you are” and he lives this each moment of each day by using artistic control to create pieces of art, by combining Asian influences, Japanese choir, African drum, and a rock n roll mix for an astounding new age adaption.
